Players of the Rytas Vilnius youth system have left for Spain, where from March 26–29 they will compete in one of the most prestigious youth basketball events – MADCUP Basket Madrid Elite. The team faces match-ups against the strongest European teams, including the basketball academies of Real Madrid and Valencia.
Playing in Group A, Rytas youth start the tournament with a very intensive schedule. According to the tournament rules, only the teams that take the first two places in the groups will advance to the semifinals and fight for the championship title, while the remaining teams will continue their performance playing for lower positions.
Before the trip to Madrid, the team’s head coach Gintaras Kadžiulis shared his thoughts about the upcoming challenge:
“We didn’t have much time to prepare, but we have many talented young players, so I believe that we will help them reveal their potential and properly represent our club. Truly strong opponents await, so we must be brave, not afraid, and go fight,” said the team’s head coach G. Kadžiulis.
In this tournament, the Rytas youth system will be represented by: Daniil Efe Kesen, Elvinas Bajus, Fallou Ntiaie, Filip Boleslaw Wilk, Ignas Martinkus, Jonas Biržinis, Joris Matusevičius, Kostas Korsakovas, Mykolas Bilis, Raigardas Ciunys, Rapolas Klišauskas, Rytis Milius.
