The general meeting of shareholders of Rytas Vilnius has approved Civinity, a building maintenance, engineering, and technological solutions group, as a new club shareholder through monetary contributions to the capital of the public institution. The group aims to become a long-term strategic shareholder in Rytas Vilnius and contribute to the organization’s sustained growth.

In total, three monetary contributions to the public institution’s capital are planned. Upon completion of these contributions and fulfillment of agreed terms, Civinity could acquire a total of 41 votes in the general meeting of shareholders. Following the initial contribution, Civinity is set to receive 13 votes. The total value of the planned monetary contributions will amount to 1.5 million euros, which will be supplemented by infrastructure investments; full financial details will be disclosed upon closing the transaction.

The capital generated through the new shares will be allocated directly to the club. This partnership aims to strengthen its financial foundation and develop infrastructure opportunities that match its athletic ambitions.

“Shareholders approved the arrival of Civinity because they see an opportunity to strengthen the organization and plan with greater certainty several years into the future. For the senior team, having high-quality daily training conditions is vital, while for young players, having the pathway to prepare systematically for professional basketball is essential. Our shareholders want the club’s growth to open up greater opportunities for both,” says Martynas Giga, CEO of Rytas Vilnius.

Civinity intends to work alongside the existing club management, contributing corporate management expertise and helping explore additional revenue streams. This will provide greater flexibility to plan club operations over the long term and allocate resources toward growth. Basketball and sporting operations will remain strictly under the purview of the club’s sporting professionals.

“We chose Rytas Vilnius because of its sporting ambitions and deep connection to the city. Sports infrastructure is an integral component of our Smart Green City strategy. In planning this development, it is essential for us to know who will use these facilities daily and how they will support the club’s development. Rytas Vilnius, together with its passionate community of supporters, can breathe vibrant, ongoing sporting life into these spaces. We see our contribution in leveraging our experience in corporate governance and scaling businesses—we want to help the club generate greater revenue and reinvest it into long-term strategic plans,” says Deividas Jacka, Chairman of the Board at Civinity.

Both organizations view the team’s sporting progression and required infrastructure hand in hand. The club prioritizes top-tier conditions for hosting fixtures and the capacity to plan training schedules seamlessly. Youth development also requires an environment where high-potential prospects can work consistently with coaches and prepare for the step up to the first team.

In exploring infrastructure solutions, the needs of the entire Rytas Vilnius organization will be considered. A primary objective of this collaboration is to align the facilities required for game days with the day-to-day training demands of both the senior roster and developing youth players.
