The big man has already worn Rytas’ jersey during the FIBA Champions League youth tournament in Manisa, Turkey, last spring. In that competition, he averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 17.5 efficiency per game. Meanwhile, Rytas’ youth team triumphed convincingly in the tournament.
Last season, Vilkas also made his debut in the National Basketball League (NKL). Playing for Vilkaviškis Perlas, averaged 4.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
Vilkas has also earned recognition internationally — he was named MVP of the Adidas NextGen qualification tournament in Munich, Germany. Representing a combined talents team, he scored 16 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished 2 assists, and blocked 5 shots in the final against Valencia Basket’s U18 team, totaling 36 efficiency points. Across the tournament, he averaged 9.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 19.2 efficiency per game.
The young talent completed the season representing Lithuania’s U18 national team at the European Championship. Over 5 games, he averaged 6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, attacking from the two-point zone with perfect 100% accuracy.
