In October, Rytas Vilnius dedicated support to people in need. During various campaigns, 200 kg of clothing was collected to help people facing difficulties survive the cold season. Additionally, the Rytas fan community raised nearly 1,400 EUR through various initiatives, and club members volunteered at the Betanija soup kitchen.
Continuing the Together Against All mission, Rytas Vilnius seeks to unite and bring closer the club’s fans, the city, and the team itself. In November, the club invites supporters to help Ukrainian soldiers under attack by purchasing thermal scopes for them with the assistance of the Blue&Yellow organization, thereby improving their accuracy.
From each ticket sold for Rytas home games at the Avia Solutions Group Arena, one euro will be donated to Blue&Yellow, the organization supporting Ukraine. The capital club has already played two home games in the arena this November and will play two more matches before the end of the month – on November 25 in the Lithuanian Championship against Wolves and on November 29 in the Champions League against Patras Promitheas. Funds will also be raised through other channels.
„Accuracy is crucial on the basketball court, but that is just a game. For Ukrainian soldiers, accuracy is a matter of life and death in their fight for freedom and sovereignty, invites Rytas Vilnius director Jaroslav Latušinskij. In the first two matches, enough funds were collected to buy one thermal scope for the defenders of Ukraine. The minimum goal is to purchase a second scope, costing 7,000 euros, but we believe our supporters can be even more active. We cannot forget that there is a war in Ukraine..“
An auction will soon be announced for original A. Macijauskas jerseys, with the highest bidder on Facebook required to transfer the funds to the Blue&Yellow organization. Rytas fans are also encouraged to support the organization by calling 1482 (donation of 5 EUR) or via their website.
