Rytas Vilnius earned their second win in the FIBA Basketball Champions League, defeating previously unbeaten Promitheas Patras Vikos Cola 98–79 (29–19, 24–20, 24–18, 21–22) at home. Giedrius Žibėnas’ team now stand at 2–1 in Group A.
The visitors started better, leading 5–1 after Kendale McCullum and Kendal Coleman’s baskets, but Rytas quickly took control. Artūras Gudaitis dominated inside, drawing fouls and scoring several key points, while Jordan Walker hit a three-pointer to give the hosts the lead (9–7). Rytas then dictated the pace — Masiulis and Gudaitis controlled the boards, and Radzevičius added a three-pointer. After the first quarter, Rytas led 29–19.
In the second quarter, the Vilnius side increased their advantage. Walker set up his teammates well, Radzevičius and Sargiūnas each hit a three, and Gudaitis energized the crowd with a dunk. Youngster Nikas Stuknys scored his first BCL points (31–19). Promitheas tried to respond with outside shots, but Rytas stayed in control and went into halftime up 53–39.
After the break, the hosts kept their momentum. Walker opened the third with another three, while Radzevičius and Masiulis scored inside (68–51). Promitheas couldn’t build any real run, and the final quarter began with Rytas up by twenty (77–57).
In the last period, the Greek side tried to rally — McCullum and Plota scored after Rytas turnovers (77–63) — but Žibėnas’ team quickly settled. Gudaitis made his free throws, Paliukėnas and Radzevičius scored under the rim, and Sargiūnas added a triple. In the final minutes, Bruhnke and Wiley finished the job to secure a clear 98–79 win.
Rytas will next face MLP Academics Heidelberg at home on November 5.
