Another newcomer has reached the capital – 26-year-old guard Michael Devoe has arrived in Vilnius, ready to begin a new chapter of his career in Europe wearing Rytas jersey.
For the American player, this marks his first visit to Lithuania, but upon landing in the capital, he immediately radiated high spirits and openness to new experiences.
„I’m excited about it. It’s my first time being here, so I’m going to embrace it as much, try to get out and see as much as I possibly can of the city. But I’m excited to meet my teammates, meet the fans and be able to go out there and play,“ Devoe said.
Although the entire roster is completely new to the American, he makes no secret of arriving with a clear goal of aiming for the highest honors.
„Uh, I think just gelling with the team. Um, it’s a new team like I said, and uh I’m kind of just excited for it. I mean you guys are coming off of winning the championship last year, so it’s something that I want to do as well. Um, so I’m looking forward to that,“ stated the guard.
Alongside basketball, Devoe intends to immerse himself in the rhythm of life in Vilnius:
„Uh, the culture here. I’ve never, like I said, I’ve never been here before, so I kind of want to embrace that. I want to try new foods, try different restaurants, and uh definitely see a lot of scenery out here, so it looks… it looks really beautiful out here, so I definitely want to see.“
Although he doesn’t have any familiar faces on the team yet, the player sees this as the best possible push forward:
„Uh, I’m super excited. Um again, I’ve never played with anybody on this team before, so it’s all new people that I’m meeting, so again it’s a part of a new chapter and I’m looking forward to it.“
