As the defending champions enter the decisive stage of the season, Rytas Vilnius is launching a new campaign, Together Against All, which aims to unite the club’s organization, players, and fans across the capital.
However, the Together Against All slogan is about more than basketball – it also embraces social responsibility, addressing broader social issues such as racism, inequality, and homophobia.
“We know that many basketball fans in Lithuania don’t like us, but this campaign is meant to turn that negativity into extra motivation for the entire Rytas community. On the court, we fight not only for ourselves but for everyone who faces hostility of any kind. Our team includes players from several different countries, yet we always take to the court as one, staying united while respecting every opponent,” said Rytas guard Marcus Foster.
It is worth remembering that in June 2022, the capital’s club, together with the hockey team Hockey Punks, expressed support for the LGBT community and the Equality and Peace march.
The new campaign will not be limited to the playoffs, as Rytas plans to continue this project into the next season. The Together Against All slogan will support various social initiatives. The club will contribute to the work of the Red Cross, support socially disadvantaged families, elderly and children’s homes, animal shelters, and anti-bullying programs in schools, as well as continue providing aid to Ukraine.
“We welcome and support this initiative by the Rytas organization. Across the sports industry – not only in Lithuania – there remain many forms of hatred that, in today’s world, are simply unacceptable. These are often directed at the LGBT community, racial minorities, or women’s sports. All these areas need more tolerance, diversity, and openness,” said Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas. “We understand that the Together Against All campaign will not change public opinion overnight, but the Rytas organization has a strong moral compass and is setting the right example to fight hatred and discrimination alongside the people of Vilnius.”
Starting with the first Betsafe-LKL quarterfinal game, Together Against All symbols will be visible throughout Jeep Arena, and exclusive campaign merchandise is already available in the club’s online store.
On May 12, Rytas will host Neptūnas Klaipėda at their home arena. Tickets for the game are available at Kakava.lt.
